Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in an interview on Thursday April 4th, 2019 that they want more and more manpower in helping out customers in their stores instead of cleaning the shelfs and floor.
Instead they are trying to replace all the humans who do janitorial work with robot which will also reduce manpower on doing the same unproductive work everyday. Doug McMillon also added that they would have about 2000 robots doing janitorial work across 4700 US stores. He said that he wants all the manpower helping customers in every way possible so that customers are satisfied with the purchase and store experience. McMillon has also said that it is difficult to find workers who want to unload the trucks and do janitorial work at night, and this is a serious problem in America.
