Netflix Original Stranger Things attracted a lot of viewers since the initial release of its first season in July 2016. Over the years the show has grasped a lot of mixed reviews from the critics as well as from the audience. Season 1 and Season 2 of the Netflix Original Drama were released in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Though Season 3 has taken a long time to release as compared to the previous seasons, Netflix earlier at the start of 2019 confirmed that it will be knocking the doors on 4th July 2019.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season :
THE TIME JUMP
Believe it or not, the reports suggest that Season 3 of the Netflix Original will have another time jump similar to the first and the second season and will not start from where the story ended in the second season. The reason behind the time jump is simple, the child actors are growing up.
RETURN OF THE MIND FLAYER
Stranger Things companion book, “Worlds Turned Upside Down” has confirmed that the evil Shadow Monster aka Mind Flayer will be returning in season 3. The end of season 2 insinuated that Mind Flayer is still out there and has more devastating plans to demolish the earth. Though we know a massive time jump will be taking place at the start of season 3, we can undoubtedly say Mind Flayer will share a big part of the screen with the other characters.
A Total Of Eight Episodes
A tweet by Stranger Things official Twitter handle, boasted that the latest season will be consisting of a total 8 episodes.

It Will Be In A Smaller Scale As Compared To The Second Season
“It’s not necessarily going to be a bigger scale, what I am really excited about is giving these characters an interesting journey to go on,” told Matt Duffer, the man who created Stranger Things. Examining the statement, if the second season was about expanding the Stranger Things world, the third one will not go too far this time as the season is said to be focused mainly on the intense storyline.
The New Season Will Be More Brutal, Scary and Intense
“While it’s our most fun season, it also turns out to be our grossest season,” Ross said. “We’re inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing. We’re inspired by David Cronenberg. We have a little bit of a George Romero vibe in there as well. There are horror movies and horror masters that we haven’t really paid tribute to as much in previous seasons that we are definitely going to get into this season.” The cast has confirmed the spoiler in few interviews. Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler in the Netflix Original, quoted season 3 as bigger, darker and scarier than the first two. Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, told MTV News the same, unfolding that the “threat,” whatever it might be, is much more dangerous, intense and interesting this time. “Oh, yeah, the threat is … it’s brutal. It gets worse. It’s very big,” said the 14-year-old actor.
These are a few things we know so far but everything inside the box will be unfolding on American Independence Day i.e. 4th July 2019.
