2019 has so far confronted the most vulnerable villains of all time including the mighty Thanos and evil spirit of La Llorona. The year nevertheless has more iconic villain characters approaching the big screens. The two most anticipated movies of the year, DC’s standalone film Joker and IT Chapter 2 will be knocking the theatres soon and we might see both the clowns continue the villainous texture of 2019 and turn the year into the year of clowns.
‘You Know How I Got These Scars?’
DC’s Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix in the main role as Joker aka Arthur Fleck, a miserably failed standup comedian who chooses a path less traveled and emerges as one of the most virulent criminals of Gotham City. The clown prince of crime will be back on the screens on October 4, 2019, and the movie will follow the story of Arthur Fleck turning himself into the most iconic villain of all time the Joker.
‘You’ll float too’
Pennywise is returning and this time he is more threatening and minds grasping. Based on Stephen King’s petrifying novel the first part of the movie followed the story of seven young bullied teenagers who face their worst nightmare – an ancient, shape-shifting, the evil bloodthirsty clown that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey on the town’s children, Pennywise.
The movie takes a massive time jump of 27 years as the Loser’s club now grown up, return to Derry after Pennywise re-emerges from the sewer. Reportedly the child actors, who played the younger versions of the Loser’s club will be involved but later will be replaced by their adult versions.
Bill Skarsgård plays the dancing clown of Derry in the upcoming second installment based on Stephen King’s supernatural horror novel ‘IT’.
