AMC’s Walking Dead has been around for almost 10 years now and gradually has grasped a lot of appreciation from the fans and the critics. The show has so far been successful in making its own fan base and is one of the most favorite TV series of 2019. The Ninth Season of AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror ended on March 31, 2019, since when the fans are waiting for the release of its tenth and most probably final season. The major thing that made headlines this season was Andrew Lincoln leaving the show in halfway. The news about his return has been swinging around for a while though a statement from his fellow cast member, Norman Reedus, denies them all.
Lincoln, who played the main character Rick Grimes from the beginning of the hit AMC zombie series, departed halfway through the ninth season to spend more time with his family in England.“I have two young children, and I live in a different country, and they become less portable as they get older,” Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly. “It was that simple. It was time for me to come home.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon in the series told the EW that Andrew has been questioning about the time of his departure.
‘It’s funny because I talked to Andy the other day, and he was like, “Man, I picked the wrong time to leave the show because it’s so f**king good right now”,’ he said.
This came up after Angela Kang, the showrunner of AMC’s The Walking Dead, quoted that the series won’t be anyway similar to Robert Kirkman’s comics after the departure of Rick Grimes’s character from the storyline.
This statement from Norman Reedus clearly clarifies that Lincoln has been regretting leaving the show at a time when its popularity was at its peak and there are no signs of him returning to the show again in the tenth season.
