Black Mirror is a British science fiction anthology television series created by Charlie Brooker. It displays to us the modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of the new technologies. All the episodes and portrayed in the form of mini-stories and all of them being standalone. It often has a dark and satirical tone.
Netflix has announced that they’re all set to launch ‘Little Black Mirror’ a video series made of multiple mini-stories. This is happening ahead of the release of Black Mirror season 5. The next installment is rapidly approaching. Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror is the most accurate dystopian series I’ve ever seen. It shows us the perfect example of how dangerous can developing technology can be to us. How it can destroy our lives and ruin the coming generation. It is said to be the most hauntingly truth defining series ever made.
The fifth season is set to release in 5th June 2019. The trailer has already been released. What’s even more exciting about this season is the amazing cast. The series will feature the likes of Miley Cyrus, Andrew Scott, and Anthony Mackie. Following the pattern of the previous seasons, the fifth season will have three episodes, ‘Smithereens’, ‘Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too’ and ‘Striking Vipers’.
Charlie explained regarding this season that, “We’re doing more optimistic episodes and stories, rather than just dystopian and negative ones.” Black mirror is a series which I would suggest everyone watch. It gives us the perfect example of how dangerous us humans can be to ourselves, and how our own creations can be our ultimate doom. The dark tone of the many episodes gives us a feeling of eerieness and forces us to see the true nature of our lives. Our generation has the power to do so much good with the abundance of knowledge we are blessed with, but this knowledge if not used the right way can also be the reason for the rise of evilness.
