John Wick has changed action movies by a large amount and it might not seem like that, but that’s where you got yourself wrong. While John Wick: Chapter 3 was just about the preparation for the war that is expected to come soon, the next chapter will be about the war against the High Table and the Continental Hotel in New York.
John Wick is ready (spoiler alert!) to take his revenge from the betrayal of his old friend Winston. Winston betrayed John to keep his hotel and please the High Table. A lot of action was desired from the previous chapter and chapter 3 maintained that but no pencil scene was found.
Remember the dialogue in John Wick Chapter 1, where it said: “He went into a bar with just a pencil and killed three men with it.” To be honest, when I heard for the first time, I got goosebumps. This made it seem like he’s someone you don’t want to mess with.
So, when the scene was cast into the second chapter although not how it was depicted, it seemed quite thrilling. Now whenever I see a pencil, I feel like “Wow, I can actually someone with it. “ Nonsense aside, the fans expect Keanu Reeves to pull off another stunt like that but in a better and cooler way. Like how it was said in Chapter 1.
Keanu Reeves had to do a three-month boot camp and he struggled to get it right although being the one for suggesting it. He said he’d gladly go back for a boot camp for the third time if the scene will be brought again. So we may expect the pencil scene again in Chapter 4 if the director agrees with Reeves.
