The official show description of Netflix reads: “The world as we understand it is over. Six years after a violent rain-borne virus in Scandinavia wipes away almost all people, two Danish lines arise to discover the remnant of a civilization lost from the safety of their bunker. They quickly join a group of young survivors and together embark on a dangerous search for any kind of sign of life in deserted Scandinavia. Freed from their social and collective past, the community has the liberty to be who they want to be. They find that love, jealousy and much of the onset of aging dilemmas remain even in a post-apocalyptic globe.”
The first initial Danish series of Netflix is “The Rain.” The first part of the first season was premiered in May 2018, and the second in May 2019. Sometime in 2020, the final season will premiere.
Jannik Tai Mosholt (“Follow the Money”), Esben Toft Jacobsen (“The Great Bear”) and Christian Potalivo (“Dicte”) were creators of this series.
The casts include Alba August (“Reliance”), Mikkel Boe Folsgaard (“A Royal Affair,” “The Legacy”), Lucas Lynggaard (“Tidsrejsen”), Lars Dinnage (“The Guilty”), Lukas Lokken (“One Two Three Now!”) and Johannes Kuhnke (“Force Majeure”) as well as: Lars Hjejle (“Dicte,” “High Fidelity”), Lucas Lyngaard Tonnesen (“The Legacy.”)
