Since the release of Avengers Endgame, people are wondering about the future of MCU and Phase 4. Recently it was confirmed by James Gunn that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will not be named Asgardians of the Galaxy. Here’s why this happened.
In Avengers Endgame, Thor gives Valkyrie the control of New Asgard and says that she can take care of the town and that they already have a king. Then we see Thor enter Quill’s ship “The Benetar”. So when Thor comes he says, “The Asgardians of the Galaxy are back together again”. No one really pays attention to what Thor said and after that Quill and Thor have an argument about who is going to be the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. According to comics, there was a series release on the 80s called Asgardians of the Galaxy. This is the time when Odin is king and Thor and his friends go to different planets which are ruled by bad guys and help them out. This was teased for a brief moment in Thor The Dark World when Thor goes to fight some bad guys on a planet with his friends.
Well, people started sending text messages to James Gunn saying that please do not name the movie Asgardians of the Galaxy. He immediately replied, “don’t worry”. So, it is confirmed that the third installment for Guardians of the Galaxy will not be named Asgardians of the Galaxy. Its name is going to be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
