It is not satisfactory for the producers and fans of Endgame that the movie made more than $2 Billion worldwide. Their ultimate aim for the movie’s fate is to acquire more money than Avatar. The ardent followers of the Marvel Universe wanted Avengers – End Game, the last movie of the Avengers series to cross the overall collection of Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time.
Endgame fell short of becoming the highest-grossing film by $18 million. Endgame brought an end to the 22 movie arc of Avengers movies. Even after being an extremely awaited movie, by the fans of the Marvel Universe, it could not defeat the humongous collection of Avatar.
The producers, in order to maximize the collection, released the movie again, with an added 18 seconds long scene. It collected an additional value of about $7.8 million. But the fans were disappointed, as they felt cheated of their time and money.
It’s not a very probable outcome that Endgame would surpass the collection of Avatar. People have cited a lot of reasons for this fate of Endgame. Most prominent of them being that Avatar was a movie, which was made for everybody. Whereas Endgame was a movie for mainly comic book fans.
Endgame was supposed to be the result of the continuous dedication of Marvel fandom. It was meant to be the highest-grossing movie of all time. But now, since there is not a lot of hope for it to become one, fans have to make their peace with the fact that it’s going to be the second highest-grossing movie in the world.
