The latest Netflix Original movie, “Secret Obsession” is a gripping thriller. It took the viewer’s attention even when its trailer first dropped on the 8th of July, 2019. Brenda Song plays the protagonist, Jennifer, who suffered a mysterious attack which left her with an amnesic condition. She doesn’t remember anything about her previous life. Her husband reintroduces her to their secluded mountain home and they start living there again.
As Jennifer tries to resurrect herself from the traumatic incident, she finds herself engrossed in a mysterious life that might not even be her own. It’s the life that she remembers nothing about.
As she tries to recover from it with the help of a man, who is supposedly her husband, she, along with a detective, unravels the ugly truths about her life. Mike Vogel portrays the character of Jennifer’s husband, Russell Williams.
The protagonist, Brenda Song, in her own description, says that “Secret Obsession” is a ‘new twist to misery’. The movie is one and a half-hour long and it’s creepy tactics suck you into the story arc of essentially a victim and a stalker.
Though, the basic plot of the stalker-victim storyline does seem dangerously similar to another Netflix Original “You”, but in the real sense, the storylines do not coincide at all.
The cast seems to have put their best foot forward in presenting to us the mind-gripping psychological thriller. Previously, Brenda Song was most popularly known for her portrayal of London Tipton in ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’.
