Taylor Swift fans are in for a treat as she announced the much-awaited release date of her new single, Lover. She proclaimed the news to the world while accepting the award at the Teen Choice Awards 2019.
While accepting the award, she announced that her new single “Lover” would be released on August 16, 2019. The upcoming single is the fourth one to be released in the series of songs in the concurring album of Taylor Swift. The first single from the album featured Brendon Urie from Panic! At the Disco, and was released on April 26, 2019.
Her second single from the album was “You need to Calm Down”, which was sort of a commentary on the existing socio-political situation in America where people have become increasingly intolerant and often hostile. It featured the Queer Eye cast along with some big names from Hollywood, like Ryan Reynolds and Katy Perry. The video of the song was incredibly done with maximum attention to detail. The third was “The Archer,” and it was released on 23rd July 2019.
Apart from the announcement of the song, in her speech at the Teen Choice Awards, she encouraged her fans to make mistakes. She stated that if anybody’s a teen out there, she thinks one thing she wishes she would have known when she was a teen was that mistakes are inevitable and they are bound to happen.
Jack Antonoff is co-producing the single. Taylor Swift posted an excerpt from the lyrics of the song, and her fans were hardly able to contain their excitement.
