The third season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” premiered in June 2019, but now the fans of the show have started speculating about the possible storyline that would come into being in the fourth season of the show.
The third season came out with one episode airing every week. The showrunners of “The Handmaid’s Tale” have officially signed up for the fourth season of the show.
The show is based on the novel of the same name by the famous author Margaret Atwood. It’s set in a sort of a dystopian universe where fertility rates are low because of the sexually transmitted diseases and pollution. Women are subjugated to extreme levels and women who are able to reproduce are coerced to do so, in order to maintain a level of population density. The Society, in this world, is ruled by power-hungry people and they are ready to go to any lengths just for that clutch of power in their hands.
The release date of the fourth season hasn’t been announced yet, but with the release pattern of the previous three seasons, it might just return in April-June next year, as the first and second season released in April and the third season released in June this year.
It’ll be interesting to watch how the showrunners plan on navigating the fourth season as the show, now, has a lot of expectations attached to it. Season one and season two of “The Handmaid’s Tale” are available for streaming on Amazon Prime, while the third season is there for people to watch on Hulu.
