Actor-singer Harry styles rejected an offer to play the role of Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.”
Recently, AMC theatres and Regal cinemas tweeted that Styles will be playing the role of Prince Eric in the little mermaid. But later the post was deleted.
Styles is the fan of the project but has officially denied playing the role.
If Harry Styles played the role, he would have been seen along with Hailey Balle who is playing the role of “Ariel ” in Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Styles is famous for One Direction and a member of British Boy Band. Styles made his debut in the industry by Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” and recently screen-tested for the role of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming untitled biopic about the legendary singer, but now the part is transferred to Austin Butler.
Rob Marshall is the director of “The Little Mermaid,” and it had produced by John DeLuca, Marc Platt, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. David Magee wrote the script.
Production will begin in 2020, and further information might come in the upcoming weeks.
The original Little Mermaid is the story of a mermaid named Ariel who wishes to live the life of a human being on land and after she falls in love with Prince Eric. Her destiny changes when a sea witch who promises to send her in the human world but she exchanges her voice.
The animated version of the film that rolled out in 1989 won two Oscars for Disney, namely Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the song “Under the Sea.”
