A Netflix original series, Black Mirror, has completed five seasons and twenty-two episodes. Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror released its latest run of events in June 2019, but it is far from over.
The very first season was released back in December 2011. The first two seasons had telecasted over Channel 4, and the remaining three episodes were released and telecasted over Netflix. We’ve only just welcomed Black Mirror back to Netflix for season 5. But fans of the dystopian drama are already baying for more episodes.
As yet, series six hasn’t been confirmed, but the massive popularity of the show seems almost to guarantee its return. It’s difficult to predict when Black Mirror will return as previous launch months have included February, June, October, and December. As series 5 has only just aired, we can say with some confidence that we won’t see series six until 2020 at the earliest.
As with all Black Mirror episodes, we know it will be based on the immediate danger of technology. Whatever forms the events, it will always take references from previous storylines and characters.
Brooker thinks there’s nothing that is going to stop them. When asked Booker how many episodes will be there in season six, ‘We could do one-offs, we could do an ongoing story, we could do spin-offs,” he said.
Brooker added, ‘Black Mirror is a flavor and a tone. We have some, fairly wobbly, internal rules about what it is and isn’t right for a Black Mirror episode that we never really articulate out loud, but it does feel pretty flexible’.
According to sources, with no series or air date confirmed yet, it’s impossible to know who the cast will be. But it’s been exciting and varied over the previous round. No casting or info about the crew has been revealed. Past seasons have balanced by casting upcoming British talent and stars like Miley Cyrus, Andrew Scott.
