The next two seasons of The Crown will look at the reign of Elizabeth II in the 1970s. The British actress will give the reply to Tobias Menzies (seen in Outlander, he will play the Prince Philipp until then incarnated by Matt Smith) and Helena Bonham Carter (who will slip into the skin of Princess Margaret).
Crown’s season 2 ended in 1964 and the birth of Queen’s fourth child, Prince Edward. The third will resume at this time, and the fans will discover the queen in the 1970s. The series should again explore the relationship between Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip. The couple’s children should become more critical, especially Prince Charles.
Season 3 of The Crown will introduce a new character: the young Camilla Parker Bowles, the current wife of Prince Charles. Fans can also expect to see Princess Diana on screen, but she should have a more significant role in Season 4. These episodes will also discuss Princess Margaret’s divorce.
