Stephen Amell may be leaving the superheroes at the end of his participation in ” Arrow “, but his next project shows that the actor will continue to wear colorful costumes by joining the independent wrestling drama ” Heels ” for Starz.
In the eight-episode drama, Amell will be Jack Spade, one of two brothers in charge of an independent wrestling federation inherited by his father.
Within the ring, the former superhero will be the villain (or ‘heel’ using industry terms), while outside it will be the worker who owns an independent business that seeks to turn it into an empire.
In addition to starring in ” Arrow ” as Oliver Queen for eight seasons, Amell appeared in other DC superhero shows such as “Flash,” ” Supergirl, ” and ” Legends of Tomorrow .”
The fiction will consist of eight chapters of one hour each and is written by Michael Waldron. In addition, it will feature showrunner Mike O’Malley.
It will address the independent professional struggle, where men and women pursue their dreams in this world in a small town in the state of Georgia (USA).
There, two rival brothers from the same family, one of them played by Amell, will fight for the legacy of his late father. This will conflict with the real life of the main character, where his role as working father and ideal husband will be questioned by this world of the ring.
“Heels” will be written by Michael Waldron, also a screenwriter of the “Loki” series, starring Tom Hiddleston for Disney +. So far there is no information on the release date.
