Singer-actor Selena Gomez understands how to generate some waves to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The actress-singer made a statement after a stunning red carpet appearance at the screening of her film ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ that stunned her fans. Giving a glimpse of her strange sense of humor to Instagram users, Selena posted a caption capturing eyeballs and raising eyebrows.
Selena dropped a bomb in the form of a joke while posting some pictures of herself from the festival. She posted, “My first time in Cannes! I’m so happy to be part of this film with Jim and the entire cast. By the manner, Bill Murray and I get married.” Pictures of the two on the red carpet, sharing some warm moments circulated on social media. Murray and Gomez were in the festival ball and were seen whispering in the ears of each other.
Speaking to Vanity Fair about his young co-star, Murray said, “I really like her… She’s unusually bright. She’s kind and natural. I’m always happy to find some kind of pop icon that I really like.”
During the zombie comedy press conference The Dead Don’t Die, Gomez, who has more than 150 million supporters on Instagram, talked about the damaging impacts of social media on youth, noted. She said she didn’t find social media appropriate for the young generation because she felt it had catastrophic impacts on them.
Gomez’s caption began a viral Internet rumor, but no further remarks were made. Bill Murray, also a cast member of the new film, expresses his ideas on the 26-year-old singer, “She’s exceptionally bright. She’s kind and natural. I’m always happy to discover some kind of pop icon that I really like.” While the caption itself was very careful, what sparked curiosity was the touching moment that both stars seemed to share; Murray whispered into Gomez’s ear.
