Miley Cyrus has come up with an exclusive breakup song after her recent split with Liam Hemsworth. The pop-star confirmed that she and Liam are no longer together after 8 months of marriage. She now released a new song titled “Slide Away” after her breakup that appears to hint at their split.
Miley was a part of the writing too. The song starts with “Once upon a time, it was paradise, once upon a time, I was paralyzed, think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights, but it’s time to let it go”. The chorus starts like, “Sliding away back to the ocean, back to city lights”, before declaring “We’re not 17, I’m not who I used to be. You say that everything changed, you’re right, we’re grown now”.
The former couple first met in 2009, when Miley was just 17 years old (as written in the lyrics of the song). They both were working together on a film called “The Last Song”. The former couple was married in a very private ceremony towards the end of last year.
They seem to have broken up around the time when Miley’s infamous album was released known as “Bangerz”. But she confirmed they have engaged again in 2016. Fans think she hinted about the split with an Instagram post sharing photo of herself with a message about embracing “inevitable” changes.
“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” she said. “Like the mountain, I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable.” “The Dolomites were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed” she added.
