“I go where you go / And can we be this close / Forever and ever / And I take me out / Take me home / You’re my my my my / Lover” Taylor Swift sings in the chorus. On Friday midnight (16th August), the world-renowned pop-singer released the title song of the upcoming album, “Lover.” The new song is a ballad and has a 60s 70s-ish taste to it. Fans are already drooling over it worldwide.
The song came up with a lyrical video that showcased Taylor’s movie collection. Her soulful voice fits perfectly with the video playing on the projector’s screen. Swift has mastered the art of writing romantic songs that most people on Earth can relate to. The pop-star co-produced the track alongside Jack Antonoff who also contributed significantly in her last album, “Reputation.”
The singer announced that the music video would release on 22nd of August, the same day as her Good Morning America concert in Central Park. The music video will be live-streamed before it releases. It will also have a fan Q&A session, live performance, and fashion designer Stella McCartney. She had announced earlier that she collaborated with Stella on a fashion collection.
The new album will feature 18 new songs including, “Me!”, “The Archer”, and “You need to calm down”.
Her new song makes us believe in love again. “There are so many ways in which this album feel like a new beginning”, she said to Vogue earlier this month. “This album is really a love letter to love, in all of its maddening, passionate, exciting, enchanting, horrific, tragic, wonderful glory.”
