As its The Wizard of Oz’s 80th anniversary this Sunday so to mark that google has added a delightful Easter Egg to search which is just as similar to that one of the Avenger Endgame, which quite immersive experience on the web.
If one searches “Wizard of Egg” on Google today he would reveal out Dorothy’s ruby slippers – complete with red sparkly animation at the top right corner of the knowledge panel and as one taps the shoes thrice the journey starts.
An iconic song of Judy Garland – “There’s no place like home” starts playing in with other songs of film ending scenes. And even Search Engines result page begins spinning around in greatly mimics the barrel roll Easter Egg effect, which last for few second after which the page turns to black n white that mimics and starts at the end of the movie. With fully usable and scrollable page after which any of search made by you would take you back to the original and regular look.
Even theirs the official way to return to regular look by tapping on the Tornado that replaces the slippers of Knowledge Panel. After which a house emerges by the storm in clockwise direction and than the appropriate scene plays again in the background, and boom you’re taken back to the regular Google Search experience which you experience usually.
Its all over some more elaborate form of that of Thanos in April, which uses entire pages and befitting the anniversary of the beloved film. This “Wizard of Oz”googles query works across all the Search Platform including mobile web too. Just on Android Search App the search bar is left unchanged rest is as it is.
