Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, ‘The Spy’ is a mini-series set in the 1960s and based on the life of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, who has to watch over Syria and to This becomes the agent of Mossad. His mission in Syria lasted four years, from 1961 to 1965.
It manages to infiltrate the highest positions in the country, establishing key relationships with political and military figures. In case the risk involved in their function is not enough, their secret identity ends up being revealed, having dangerous consequences.
The fiction, directed by Gideon Raff with the script of Gideon Raff and Max Perry, has six episodes produced by Netflix. Although ‘The Spy’ premiered on the streaming platform only on Friday, September 6, some of the users are already asking about a second season.
So far, Netflix has not made any announcement about the renewal or cancellation of the series, but considering that it is a true story with a brutal ending it is unlikely to get new episodes, however, the cliffhanger of the last episode gives a small hope.
Another point to evaluate is that the streaming service described “The Spy” as a limited series, in consequence, the first installment could be the end. But, it is also true that “limited” does not necessarily mean one, there could be more to tell, just like HBO fiction, “Big Little Lies.”
There is also the possibility that “The Spy” takes a new direction and in the same style as “American Crime Story” focuses on the life of a different character in each season. Maybe he could focus on another spy or someone involved in that world.
