The next age of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming with its superheroes. One of the many interesting films on the slate is The Eternals, which will hit the theatres in November next year and will introduce us to Ikaris, the first openly gay superhero of Marvel.
This is a large deal for the studio and demonstrates a change in how Marvel attempts to appeal from every corner of life to her fans and individuals. After all, diversity seems the main goal in Phase 4 of the MCU, and it is certainly a step in the right direction to debut the first openly gay hero. But could there be more LGBT heroes besides Ikaris? It’s still visible, but Falcon star Anthony Mackie has an idea.
In an interview, Kristen Stewart and Mackie hyped their fresh Seberg film, and as the interviewer asked if there was any space for a gay superhero to appear in the upcoming Disney Plus series, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which Mackie will lead, the actor responded. “I think Kristen Stewart should be the gay female Falcon Captain America!”
However, the comment didn’t come out from anywhere. Stewart was recently interviewed, saying that if she was less “open” to her public partner, she might have a part in a film supported by a large business like Marvel. Not surprisingly, she did not acknowledge it, noting that, despite her gender, she thinks that one day the studio can still give her a superhero position.
It’s unlikely, of course, that we’ll quickly see Stewart display this iconic shield, but who knows? Perhaps she will eventually discover herself in the MCU regardless. But if not as Captain America, tell us who you would like to see the actress perform?
