A 14-year-old girl was molested and assaulted while she walked to her high school in Burbank, Illinois, police said.
It occurred at about 7:40 a.m. Monday while the victim was walking to St. Laurence High School. Police stated that she was walking northbound on Central Avenue from 79th Street when a man walked up behind her, threatened her with a gun and forced her into a nearby alley. This incident took place at backward of a garage in a driveway in the 7800 block of Central Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male, who is 17 to 20 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a reddish-orange pullover sweatshirt and black pants and carrying a black backpack. Police are urging for help in recognizing the man they assume to be responsible.
Police said, last time, he was seen walking east on 79th Street from Central Avenue after the incident.
The 14-year-old girl is now cooperating, and the investigation is active, the police said.
The incident happened blocks away from the school campus, near a busy intersection.
Images of the suspect were captured by a home security camera in the alley. The owner of the security camera said you could hear the suspect threatening the girl in the video.
