Rihanna and Chris Brown have been teenage sweethearts. Their romance supposedly started in 2005, where for the first time Rihanna and Chris Brown were seen together under bright lights of paparazzi at the Vibe Awards. At the time, Rihanna was 17 and Chris Brown, 16.
By 2006 there was an enormous amount of pictures of the couple together, but in no way, it could be deduced that they were together.
Up to 2008, the couple even went out of their way to deny they aren’t dating. Using every interview opportunity to boast how single they are. Also, Brown’s relationship status was single ready to mingle. However, in late 2008 the couple gave up pretending and said they were together, not to anyone’s surprise.
In February 2009, the couple was reportedly in a car accident, while heading for Grammy. After which Chris turned himself in for questioning regarding charges of a felony. Brown was found guilty of a felony assault, thus was sentenced to 5 years of probation and 180 days of community service. After about six months, he opened up in his documentary about punching her several times and busting her lip. In the aftermath, she spits out blood, and her eyes and face were swollen with bruises all over the face. Both have admitted to having a history of violence in their relationship.
In 2012, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey Rihanna broke down in tears claiming to still be in love with her ex, saying she lost her best friend and partner. Saying they’ve both had their moments, and he seems to be taking all the blame.
After the whole turmoil, when two days ago, Rihanna posts a picture on Instagram in lingerie promoting her brand @savagexfenty, Chris Brown’s response on her pic immediately created a huge controversy. The picture shows Rihanna laying on her stomach on what likes like a few silk sheets, next to her, a lamp. To which Chris Brown commented, “I want to be the lamp” followed by a *smirk face* emoji. The incident infuriated the fans all over the world, and the comment was received with a lot of hate and criticism. Such as “Tf is wrong with you?”, one guy saying “you misspelled beat”.
Some mutual fans have come in defense of the singer urging the haters to “Cool it leave it in the past. Both have suffered enough, let them live their life”. What do you think of the whole scenario? If Rihanna has forgiven him and peace with it. Can we?
