Created by Nina Metivier (“Doctor Who”) and Dan Berlinka, “The A-List” is a British drama starring Lisa Ambalavanar, Ellie Duckles, and Rosie Dwyer. The series, produced by Sandra MacIver for the BBC, is set in an idyllic holiday camp on an island located in the Scottish highlands and follows a group of 12 teenagers who gather during the summer and learn to navigate between egos and insecurities each.
Soon, what looked like the best vacations of their lives become a nightmare. Mia arrives with the idea of becoming the Queen of the camp, but after the arrival of the mysterious Amber, the vote gets closer and despite the alliances she will form, she will run into the power of the newcomer.
“The A-List” premiered on October 25, 2018, on BBC iPlayer and subsequently, Netflix acquired international distribution rights and included it in its catalog on Friday, August 30.
From its end in the United Kingdom until its arrival on the popular streaming platform, fans of teenage supernatural drama ask for a second season.
It has been almost a year since its premiere and so far the BBC has not yet made any official announcement about the second season of “The A-List.” However, apparently in the last episode of the first installment, the story of this teenage group is not yet over.
In addition, Anne Brogan, executive producer of the series, told in an interview for Metro that discussions are already underway for the second batch of chapters.
Meanwhile, Ellie Duckles, who plays the villain Amber, told the BBC,
“for many of us (A-List) is our first great job and we had a great time filming … I hope we do have a second season, it would be really interesting to see where all the characters are going.”
A second season of “The A-List” will depend largely on the ratings, which have not yet been published by the BBC, although the agenda of writers and actors will also be a determining factor.
If BBC and Netflix renew “The A-List” for a second season, it is likely that the new episodes will arrive sometime in 2020.
