Season 4 of This is Us is slowly unveiling with a new trailer announcing the change. As in every season, Rebecca and Jack’s past will be a little more explored. It seems that the start of Season 4 will feature the couple after their trip to Los Angeles where Rebecca failed to land her singing contract.
In the car, Rebecca tells her future husband, “It’s extraordinary to see that a stranger can suddenly become such an important part of our stories.” The first episode is called “Strangers”, an appropriate title because the viewers will meet new faces.
This season will feature new characters played by Asante Black, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Omar Epps, Bahara Golestani, Jennifer Morrison, Timothy Omundson, Night Shyamalan, Julian Silva, Juden Thornton, and Nick Wechsler. Some of them are to be seen in the trailer.
It seems that the characters embodied by Asante Black ( In their eyes ), Omar Epps ( House ) and Marsha Stephanie Blake form a family. It remains to know their relationship with the Pearson.
The character played by Jennifer Morrison (who was in Dr. House with Epps) is part of the Army, and we see her later to embrace the role of Nick Wechsler. On a map, on Morrison’s desk, you can see Wechsler in a picture with a boy. There is also a smartphone on the table, which points out that it will be in a history of the present or more or less recent past.
If we start making theories, the character of Morrison is perhaps the mother of Kevin’s son, we see at the end of season 3. Knowing the series and his stories of adoption, it is probably to be not necessarily his biological son. Did Kevin adopt this little boy?
The trailer also confirms the returns of: Griffin Dunne (Nicky Adult), Jae-won Yoo (Tim Jo, the former Randall Campaign Director); Ron Cephas Jones (William); Elizabeth Perkins (Janet Rebecca’s mother); Phylicia Rashad (Beth’s mother Carol) and Caitlin Thompson who plays Madison, Kate’s best friend.
This is Us is back on September 24th on NBC.
