A mother has been charged with Child Endangerment after police say she left her two-year-old child in a hot car when the temperature was 92 degrees on Saturday.
Deputies got a call in reference to a welfare check at the 6500 block of North Grand Parkway after a witness told that a child was inside of a locked car that was not moving.
Constable Herman told that deputies found the vehicle and observed a two-year-old child inside and asleep. The outside temperature was 92 degrees.
EMS came and examined the child out and deputies began questioning the mother, who was circled by concerned citizens.
Ahlam Maleg allegedly notified deputies that the child was in the vehicle for 15-20 minutes while she was inside of a department store.
“Ahlam Maleg was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Child Endangerment. Her bond was set at $1,000.00 out of the 180th District Court,” said Constable Mark Herman
Child Protective Services were notified about the situation and the child was handed to a family friend who appeared at the scene.
