A 3-week-old infant died after he was stabbed while a knife attack in Newcastle. The infant was stuck at Wallsend, Newcastle, last week and Police have confirmed that youngster has died in hospital.
A man aged in his 20s, who is known to the victims, was arrested at Wallsend, Newcastle on suspicion of endeavored murder on Wednesday, October 2.
Following the attack, the mother, 21-year-old, was also admitted to the hospital with life-threatening wounds.
Police Deputies were called to the estate in Wallsend, near Newcastle, after reports of a dangerous assault.
Police deputies confirmed that the Mother is still in the hospital, but is now in a stable condition to the sources.
The baby, whose name is not publicized for legal reasons, died yesterday.
Denis Erdinch Beytula, 27-year-old, who police say has acquaintance to the victims, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder.
It is now deemed that the suspect’s charges will be updated to indicate the death of the infant at the hearing at crown court on October 31.
Dave Cole, Detective Chief Inspector, of Northumbria Police, stated, “This is a mortifying time for the baby’s family. Specialist officers continue to offer them comfort and I know the community in Wallsend are by their side too.”
Mr. Cole further added, “It is difficult to imagine what they are going through and I would ask the people to continue to respect the family’s privacy at this time.”
Mr. Cole continued, “A man has been charged concerning the occurrence and we will proceed to work closely with the Crown Prosecution Service as the case moves forward.“
