NASHUA, NH — A Nashua woman who told that a 5-year-old child had been physically abused by the child’s father was taken into custody on Tuesday after a Nashua Police investigation discovered it was her who did the assaults.
Marilynn Ortiz, 38, is charged with aggravated felonious physical assault and registering a fake report to police.
Nashua Police told they got a report from Ortiz on Aug. 12 that the child’s father abused the 5-year-old. Police told during the course of an inquiry from the Special Investigation Division, investigators discovered Ortiz had performed the assault and a warrant was sought for her arrest.
Producing fake report to police is a Class A crime. A Special felony is guilty up to a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison. A Class misdemeanor is punishable up to one year in prison.
Ortiz was freed on personal recognizance and registered to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Oct. 17.
