A deadly fire ripped through a mobile home in Goodfield, Illinois, leaving five people dead in its track. Three of the victims were children, Now, some six months later, county prosecutors have finally charged a suspect in connection with the deadly blaze: a 9-year-old who has yet to be identified publicly.
The child’s relationship to the victims has not yet been revealed, but cops believe the person’s actions were intentional.
On Tuesday, the minor was officially charged with five counts of first-degree murder, two counts of torching, and one count of aggravated torching.
Neighbors recall waking to a tragic scene, as flames submerged a trailer home nearby. Inside were Kathryn Murray, 69; Jason Wall, 34; Rose Alwood, 2; Daemeon Wall, 2; and Ariel Wall, 1. All five departed, whereas an adult and a child somehow escaped.
The five residents within the home were pronounced dead shortly before midnight, leaving friends and neighbors devastated.
