30 years old actress and filmmaker Brie Larson speak women allied with Marvel Studios have urged chairman Kevin Feige to produce an all-female film. A source shows, Larson stated that she as well as her Marvel co-stars, have had discussions with Marvel Studios president Feige regarding creating an all-women Marvel mash-up film.
If the female movie has been “truly considered” at the studio, Larson told, “It is something”, and took a breather and proceeded: “Well what do you mean truly considered?”
“I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this’,” Larson revealed.
“What that means, I have no idea. You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen,” the actress continues.
A source explained, Feige has earlier shown concern in the all-women Marvel movie, however, no fixed ideas to green-light. Recently, Marvel is placing weight on more female-forward standalone movies from Larson’s Captain Marvel to Scarlett Johansson’s imminent Black Widow movie.
Larson also considered shooting the Avengers: Endgame scene where her role Captain Marvel got a unique shape, teaming up with each of the women of the MCU. Shooting that scene was a great experience for Larson. “It was just a great day,” she remembered.
“To get to be with all of those women for the day and you get this feeling of, like, almost a little bit of naughtiness because it’s a secret and none of us can talk about it — that it felt like we were a part of this like coven working together for this goal. It was an opportunity for us to share and hang out,” she said.
