Robert Pattinson, who took our hearts with his striking looks in “Twilight”, is now gearing up to play the popular DC superhero Batman! The actor has been chosen as the next Cape Crusader, but fans of the franchise are divided over the choice to play the iconic role. Some say he doesn’t seem to be the right choice as he “can’t act”, while others vouch for him to be given one chance to portray the role.
The 33-year-old actor is busy with doing his homework so that can play the role of Bruce Wayne with ease and leave a mark. He hasn’t started shooting for the project yet. Pattinson recently said that he never realized that there were hundreds and thousands of Batman comics. The actor said that he was reading a lot of them, and not just only classics, but also individual periodicals to get into the skin of the character and prepare for the role very well.
The “Harry Potter” film star, however, said that he wasn’t sure how much he will be able to gather from these comics when he actually dons the cape, but still, he loves to gather any information related to the role.
The film will be directed by “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” director Matt Reeves and includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, while Paul Dano will be the villain, Riddler. Actor Jeffrey Wright will be playing Commissioner Jim Gordon. The shooting of the movie will apparently begin towards late November at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden.
It is pretty obvious for Pattinson to feel nervous about playing such an epic role as the Dark Knight has a pretty wide fan base which will be paying attention to even the minute details about the character. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 25, 2021.
