A Pasadena ISD substitute teacher is blamed for having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Sam Rayburn High School.
23-year-old Olivia Huerta is charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student and physical assault of a child. She arrived before a judge on Thursday morning.
Police with Pasadena ISD tells Huerta had an inappropriate relationship with the student that extended over 2 school years and started when that boy was just 16 years old.
Investigators tell a school official informed the inappropriate physical relationship to police after the victim confessed to it and said to another student who in turn notified school administrators.
The victim said administrators that he had met Huerta the year before when she changed in one of his classes. He told that between January and April of this year, he walked with Huerta to her parents’ house nearby. That is where the physical encounter happened.
The victim also states that before the incident, they swapped phone numbers and communicated via Snapchat.
According to court records, Huerta confessed to talking with the student via Snapchat. She then later confessed to the physical relationship.
Huerta is being taken on bonds adding $40,000. Her mugshot has not been issued yet.
