A 37-week-pregnant lady, who was stabbed by her spouse at their Precinct 9 house here at 9.50 am yesterday, gave birth through operation and is still being treated at the hospital.
The woman, a 35-year-old teacher, was said to make herself to the Putrajaya Hospital later being stabbed to seek surgery.
Putrajaya area police chief Assistant Commissioner Rosly Hassan said the victim underwent bleeding in her left fingers, right arm, two stab wounds on her belly and cuts at her right back.
He said the victim who also accused of abdominal discomfort and bothered about her pregnancy was assigned to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit as well as the Orthopaedics department for further surgery.
“The victim then gave delivery to a baby boy through the operation. She is still being operated at the hospital and the health of both mother and son is stable,” he said when talked here today.
Rosly said the victim’s 39-year-old man who is an audio engineer has been held and remanded until Friday (Nov 15) for further inquiry under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
He said cops also took the case item, a knife, considered to be used to hurt the victim.
Initial inquiries also revealed that the suspect had no criminal history, he said. — Bernama
