A professional photographer physically molested more than a dozen ambitious models for fulfilling physical desires, a court learned yesterday.
Exeter Crown Court learned that Brown was charming and the women submitted to his will rather than giving true consent to the physical activity. 41-year-old Brown rejected 28 allegations for physical assault and lewd activities. Brown, also known as Paul Smart, used tricks and misleading and not violence to commit the offenses.
Brown ran a photography business from an industrial unit in Okehampton, Devon, using many names – and used social media to communicate with the women whose ages ranged from 18 to 66. Brown used a false company named Model South West to promote his false model business.
The jury learned Brown would make contact with the women and advise they had the potential to do modeling work. He would tell that the modeling world required women of all sizes, shapes, and ages.
His purpose was to get physical with the women himself. The Crown told: “It was just a way to feed his physical appetite.”
The court learned the women were helpless, experiencing relationship breakdowns, and self-esteem and confidence problems.
Brown refuses 18 charges of physical molestation against 7 women, four counts of physical assault between 2012 and 2018. The trial continues.
