A distress mum tells her daughter drank herself to death after being physically abused by her stepdad for years.
21-year-old Natalie O’Donnell developed Hepatorenal Syndrome induced by cirrhosis of her liver and died on September 14 after drinking alcohol a day.
The young woman had been violated by Alastair Niven Goldie, 51, who confessed to engaging in intimate relations while in a position of trust towards the girl while she was under the age of 18.
Goldie was forgiven in jail in 2017 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and conducted a Community Payback Order, concerning 300 hours of unpaid work and counseling.
Natalie’s mum Gaynor Watson states that he should remain in prison for life after driving her daughter to alcohol dependence.
Before her death, Natalie had attempted to committed suicide by hanging herself and had self-harmed, but it was assumed that she needed to be calm before she was authorized to consult a psychiatrist. She had been calm for approximately 3 months before she pronounced dead at University Hospital Crosshouse.
Her mum declares that Goldie dominated Natalie by transferring text in which he warned to kill himself while she was in class at school and also tried to convince the vulnerable teen that he was in love with her.
Natalie was buried along with her grandparents, but the gravestone was too little to fit her name on it. On GoFundMeHer, her mother is raising money to pay for a replacement.
