Investigators with Savannah Police are investigating a gun firing incident that killed a teenage girl Friday, November 15 night.
Police say a thirteen-year-old girl was shot and murdered by her sixteen-year-old companion at Seminole and Atwood streets.
The report says that the suspect traveled to the Central Precinct to report the gunfire and was taken into confinement.
The sixteen-year-old has been charged with a crime.
The pleasure in the neighborhood was dreary and surreal on Saturday, November 16. The girl’s mother states she looked for her daughter just moments before she saw police lights on her street and police in her resident’s driveway.
“I glanced out and saw my daughter laying down,” stated April Jones, the mother of the girl. “I didn’t comprehend if she was unconscious. I didn’t comprehend if she was breathing. I didn’t know if she was living.”
She questions how everything occurred so suddenly.
“Put down the firearms!” April Jones appealed. “Put those firearms down!!
April also warned young people to hear their parent’s advice and guidance.
“They’ve either previously been there or previously seen it,” replied April Jones. “Don’t grow up too hastily. Stay a kid as long as feasible.”
Police officials state the investigation continues working and advancing.
