The Philadelphia police authorities have detained a woman in association with the death of her 32-year-old daughter last year, as per the Philadelphia police authorities.
Yelena Nezhikhovskaya, 63-year-old, is charged with third-degree manslaughter, fraudulent reporting and narcotics delivery ending in death.
Her child, Yulia, who was a quadriplegic, perished at their residence on the 9600 block of Bustleton Avenue on December 17, 2018.
“Oh my God, that’s really terrifying. I’ve met that lady numerous times, she was very pleasant to me I’m astounded,” the next-door-neighbor Lauren Andrews said.
Neighbors say it was common to hear Yulia shouting in her mentally impaired state.
“I could hear the noise but her daughter was paralyzed and mentally impaired as well, so she would sometimes shout when she wasn’t comfortable. It seemed reasonably normal. I’ve been residing here for three years, I’ve been hearing that the whole time I live here,” said Andrews.
Yelena Nezhikhovskaya was detained on November 16. The official explanation of death was ascertained to be drug intoxication and the method to be manslaughter.
The sources cite that Yelena gave her daughter Yulia a fatal dose of medicine and alcohol.
Acquaintances say they can’t perceive how hard it is caring for a 32-year-old quadriplegic, but they also cannot understand it encouraging someone to kill their own child.
“I just cannot understand that. I mean there are too many firms out there that are ready to take those kids or people to support them, and I can’t understand that,” said another Yelena’s neighbor Gaynelle Childs.
Yelena Nezhikhovskaya has an introductory hearing on December 4.
