A South Salt Lake man who police say sent a taxi to a girl’s school to pick her up and take her to his house has been charged with physically assaulting her.
Jose Enriques Caserez-Montalbo, 32, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with molestation and forcible sodomy, first-degree offenses; and forcible physical abuse, a second-degree felony.
Caserez-Montalbo was playing in a band at a house party when he met the girl and the two exchanged phone numbers.
On Sept. 23, Caserez-Montalbo texted the girl, who was still a month away from turning 18 and sent a taxi to her school to pick her up, according to charging documents.
Once at his house, “he asked her if she wanted to get physical and she told him no,” the charges state.
Despite her protests, Caserez-Montalbo abused the girl until she was able to push him and get away, according to the charges.
Bail for Caserez-Montalbo was set at $500,000.
