Brett Kinloch was a PE teacher in Bedfordshire. He met his newborn baby just 3 hours before he died after a 4-year struggle with a brain tumor. The bittersweet moment took place on February 11.
Brett’s wife, Nicola, gave birth to the couple’s 3rd daughter and then came back to be with her ill husband so that he could meet his little girl before he took his last breath. Thanks to caring for hospital staff, they were capable to make the moment successful just in the nick of time.
Brett was a teacher at the Milton Keynes Academy. This is where he also met his wife in 2010. It did not take prolonged for their friendship to change to love. Unhappily, the romance took a change when Brett was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumor shortly after their first daughter, Freya, was born.
Freya is now 4 years old while the couple’s 2nd daughter, Ella, is 18 months old. While Brett was first said that he had 12 months to live, he continued and beat the odds to hold on longer.
Throughout this time, the family was capable to travel, including holidays abroad and to Disneyland. Nicola told that Brett remained confident and never lost hope.
Brett’s initial round of treatments seemed to be a success. However, unhappily, the family got the news that the tumor had come back to a part of the brain that was inoperable. The shocking news came just before the holidays when the couple’s third daughter was on her way.
At the Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Nicola gave birth to Ariya. Within 50 minutes of the birth, she was on her way with the baby and her mother to Milton Keynes Hospital to attend Brett.
Although the moment took a lot of coordination by the staff of the 2 hospitals, it was all deserving when Ariya was capable to cuddle her dad before he died. While Brett could not talk, Nicola told that he was informed that the baby was there.
