The mother of a British girl who was molested and killed in India has experienced a fresh heartbreak after her baby granddaughter also died.
Scarlett Keeling, 15, was discovered dead on the shores of Anjuna beach in Goa in February 2008.
Her body was bruised and was lying without clothes. She was molested and killed by Samson D’Souza, 36, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his heinous crimes.
But now Scarlett’s mother, Fiona MacKeown, has been struck by more grief after her granddaughter(baby of Scarlett’s half-sister) died on a family holiday.
She was found unconscious by her mother Isis Storm Celeste and father Ludo in the early hours of November 3.
The sorrowful family now has to wait to hold her funeral after the local authorities removed the newborn’s organs during a post-mortem and the same thing happened when Scarlett died 11 years ago.
The family crowdfunded $3944 (£3,000) so that they could safely return little Zylla’s body, but the family is now forced to wait.
It is the third tragedy in the family after Scarlett’s brother died three years ago.
After the eleven years of her death, her killer D’Souza was finally pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison as he is the only person in his family who earns.
Although the prosecution demanded a life sentence for him, his defense asked for less punishment as he was the father of a 12-year-old girl and the sole earning member in his family.
Scarlett’s body was found bruised with 50 injuries and was partially clothes on the Arjuna Beach while she was son a holiday.
One day, she went out with her female friend and never returned as soon as one of her relative found that she was dead, police were called but found them to be of no help to them.
According to the information provided by Scarlett’s mother, her son died because he could not handle the death of her loving sister and as a result he started taking drugs and one day after taking an overdose, he died.
In an interview, her mother said that she thinks that she is guilty for everything that happened with her daughter.
According to her, if she wouldn’t have taken her daughter to this trip, her daughter would have been in safe hands now.
