A Colorado youngster has moved in a coma-like position for months after a breast augmentation surgery went terribly opposite last August, her troubled parents state.
Emmalyn Nguyen, 18-year-old, is restricted to a bed, ignorant of her surroundings due to a brain trauma suffered during the August 1 method, the parents claim in a lawsuit registered this week in suburban Denver.
The lawsuit, obtained by the sources, accuses Dr. Geoffrey Kim and Nurse Anesthetist Rex Meeker of gross carelessness, alleging they slipped to property monitor Nguyen after she was given anesthesia.
It insists medical staff actually left Emmalyn “unobserved” for 15 minutes, a catastrophic violation of the normal type of care.
When personnel responded, they saw the teenagers “mouth and face were pale blue and that cyanosis was speedily growing to her upper limbs and torso,” the lawsuit asserts.
Emmalyn underwent cardiac arrest twice and did not react to drugs intended to reverse her situation, the paperwork states.
Notwithstanding the signs Emmalyn sustained a brain injury, medical personnel did not summon 911 for more than 5 hours or inform her mother that something went opposite, the lawsuit alleges.
Dr. Kim and Meeker did not answer to requests from the sources seeking criticism Friday.
