A Massachusetts woman who operates as a palm reader agency cheated and fooled a mother out of $71,000 by pretending a demon had controlled her 10-year-old daughter, according to officials.
Somerset Police said in a report that they started examining Tracey Milanovich, 37, on December 17, after one of her clients claimed she cheated them into giving over large amounts of cash. Milanovich reportedly alleged she required money and household things from the client to exorcise the ghost from her daughter.
Deputies said Milanovich, who runs Tracy’s Psychic Palm Reader in Somerset, not only convinced her customer to give out about $71,000 but had her buy household things like towels and bedding.
The woman told the mother that her girl was “dead in God’s eyes” and had “something inside of her that was evil, before describing her she would have to “purchase her daughter’s soul back,” according to news media reports.
Deputies said Milanovich kept asking her customers for more money. After getting payment, she told the woman that it “only cleaned half of her child,” and would require more $6,058.00 to remove what was left,”.
Milanovich supposedly claimed she would eject the demon from the girl and put it in a Barbie doll. Officials reported that Milanovich told the mother not to tell anyone — and insisted that the “spirits would know” if she disobeyed and neglected her.
Milanovich was detained on December 27. On Monday, she was indicted on various charges, including taking the property over $250 by fraud, theft over $1,200, and threatening of a witness.
