A San Antonio cheerleading coach was detained on Friday for Physically assaulting one of his teenage students for almost two years.
Officials have charged Robert Thomas Kotara, 33, with the physical assault of a Teenage Girl.
The alleged victim, now 18, said the 33-year-old had been her trainer since she was ten years old.
As per the court reports are given to the Houston Chronicle she explained how the physical offending happened when she was 16, and the assault became a ‘regular occurrence’ over the following years
One time, the teenager said Kotara had urged her to run an errand with him, only for him to lead her to a local hotel, give her alcohol and finally have physical relations with her.
In another event, he asked her to babysit his son while he went to work. Instead, she claimed, he had physical activities with her while the child lived in the same room.
The court reports also described how a fellow coach gave proof and evidence that he saw Kotara with the teenage girl, sitting bare, on his lap.
Text messages and photos given to police in July 2018 showed how the trainer confronted Kotara about the occurrence. However, it is not clear if the colleague described it.
Deputies said the 18-year-old has attempted to end all contact with her former coach but said he had proceeded with daily efforts and struggle to contact her via email.
Kotara has also been indicted separately for robberies at several gyms where he was employed, the court records showed.
