A South Carolina high school educator was arrested after allegedly having physically abuse with a 16-year-old student, officials said Monday.
The teacher seduced the teen on multiple occasion
Anna Elizabeth Jeanette Patton, 22, seduced the teenager by sending several steamy messages and without clothes photos via text and social media over three months, among Oct. 1, 2019, and Jan. 11, according to arrest warrants from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
She “did knowingly interact with the juvenile victim … through social media and text texting for the purpose of enticing the victim to engage in physical activities,” according to the warrant, reported by a local outlet.
The pair allegedly had abuse on various occasions.
A Darlington County Sheriff’s Office representatives said she couldn’t reveal the gender of the asserted victim.
Patton — an English professor at Lamar High School — was charged with physical battery with a student 16 to 17 years of age, distributing obscene material to a person under 18 years, and unlawful solicitation of a minor.
She was placed on official leave, pending an investigation, Audrey Childers, a representative for the Darlington County School District, said in a comment to a local outlet.
Patton was issued on a $7,500 bond at her initial court show on Monday and ordered not to contact the victim or the victim’s family and not to return to school grounds, public records show. She is expected back in court on May 6.
