The streaming service has recently teamed up with actress Gweneth Paltrow. However, the show is receiving some very mixed reviews. Let us take a quick look at what makes the show unique and yet what are some of the issues that are totally unconventional.
What Is This New Show The Goop Lab All About?
Netflix series The Goop Lab, a young woman, Anna, gets a reading from a psychic medium, Laura Lynne Jackson. However, things don’t go as planned Jackson tells Ana, a Goop employee who is skeptical about clairvoyance, that she senses a twin in her family. Although, Ana can’t think of any twins.
When one watches the show it seems like the show is a bit less edgy than it was promised in the trailer. Some has even said that all the episodes are downright boring while some episode is all about health care and loving your own self and body. The show is all about women’s empowerment.
The Show Is Getting Somewhat Mixed Reactions From Fans.
The topics that are usually taken up by the show revolves around the benefits of psychedelic therapy, psychic intuition, and women’s sexual health. Each episode featured Paltrow and Goop’s chief content officer Elise Loehnen interviewing and talking with a couple of experts on a health-related topic and intervention, mixed with scenes of Goop’s staff.
However, the show is really revolutionary in some ways as well. The show does not shy away from talking about female genital and about female physical and mental concerns. The unique feature also is about it shows fringe therapies with limited evidence as treatments for serious mental health issues. Let us see how far the show is successful to garner attention from fans. Will Netflix renew the show for yet another year? Well, we need to see it!
