A 32-year-old Inglewood man arrested in the beating death of a 2-year-old child in Long Beach that occurred last summer.

32-year-old Charles Edward Davis Jr. murdered and assaulted a child following in death.
Investigators tell Davis is liable for the death of 2-year-old William Meeks III of Long Beach.
Police announced, on June 16, 2019, paramedics brought an injured kid to the medical center from a parking lot of an alcohol store in the 900 blocks of Daisy Avenue. The child passed away two days later.
Officials initially believed the child might have passed away from a medical emergency. But a post-mortem later learned the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the case listed as murder.
Detectives think the child has struck inside a car, a silver 2016 Hyundai Sonata, that parked at the liquor store.
Davis defined as an acquaintance of the boy’s mother.
Charges And Punishments
32-year-old Charles Edward Davis Jr. captured on Sunday in Inglewood and booked in Long Beach for killing and attacking a child resulting in death.
He kept on a $2 million bail.
Police ask anyone with extra information to reach Long Beach Police Homicide detectives or give an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers.
Police expect to deliver the case to the District Attorney’s Office this week for charges.
