Heartbroken mother has lost her 10-year-old son in a shooting on Sunday evening in the area of Orange Mound.
The community member identified the victim as Jadon Knox, a fourth-grader in the social school.
Memphis Police and official said Knox was shot on Josephine Street close to Carnes Avneue just after 6 p.m. Sunday. He was conveyed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. But unfortunately, the 10-year-old boy was declared dead.
Knox’s relative said in a report that he had only been outside for 10 minutes, and withing those moments, bullets started flying.
“The attack took his life,” relative Tawanda Knox said. “They jerked his life that hadn’t even started. He was only 10-year-old.”
Police In Search For The Attacker
The neighbors said someone drove by their home in Orange Mound and began shooting.
Bullet holes can be observed in the home Monday afternoon.
Friends, families, and relatives are now praying for peace.
“We have gathered to request peace in Orange Mound and challenge the attackers to turn themselves in,” the family said in a report.
“Enough of this should be enough. We want to be working on loving each other in a bad time like this.”
The community members have an extreme plea for attackers to come forward.
Investigators assume the person liable for the killing is a man in a white Nissan Altima with a black front bumper.
The family set up a GoFundMe page to cover the expenses for the funeral.
