A teenager wanted to protect his partner when he presumed the danger. Four men came at them and attacked them. Two of them tried to molest her. But, it will
The incident happened last September in Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The 17-year-old kid, named by his initials ZA was with his girlfriend. They were strolling down the way when four men surrounded them and asked for their belongings.
The street was silenced, and they both were surrounded. Thugs robbed them, and at first, Za opposed them but with the numbers game heavy on him. He gave the stuff, but then something else happened.
Two of the four men came forward and started passing oppressive smears and ZA’s girlfriend. The clan came forward to the girl and tried to molest her. This provoked ZA, and he took out a knife he had with him.
However, Law enforcers said he shouldn’t possess a knife with him, but he said it was about an unnamed school project. He stabbed one of the men who was identified as 35-year-old Misnan.
Misnan dropped and passed away from his injuries the next day.
ZA was arrested the next day initially for killing. Murder charges in Indonesia are guilty by up to just seven years in prison.
But, last week, during ZA’s trial at the Kepanjen District Court, the teenager was charged with violation of Article 340. Article 340 states that murder under the criminal code. It holds the maximum sentence of life imprisonment. ZA claimed in court that it was self-defense, not a deliberate crime. He was trying to save his girlfriend
According to ZA’s attorney, Lukman Hakim, Article 340 is very odd for this case. He said there was no intention of the killing.
There have been no official statements from the prosecutors who indicted ZA.
