A 10-year-old boy was attacked by a ‘chubby Asian man’ who cut his neck before leaving in Belper Street, Leicester, at 5.20 pm on Saturday. The boy was hurried to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, after a witness phoned 999, and he is in a stable condition. His mother was distressed, but not wounded in the incident.
The local police force was now connecting the stabbing to an attack on January 14 when a woman underwent a cut to the back of her head.
The lady, who is in her 30s, was in Doncaster Road with her two children at nearby 7.15 pm when she felt something to the back of her head. She turned nearby and reported seeing a person with a knife who then ran from the scene going towards Melton Road. She was brought to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
The two children were not wounded in the episode. On Thursday, Jan 16, a man in his 70s was on Dean Road when he was discovered with wounds to his head and hands. From initial CCTV inquiries, it is assumed the victim was assaulted by a man with an object, cops said. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been freed.
Cops have been trawling CCTV and making house-to-house inquiries as part of their inquiries.
They have also released a picture of a man they would like to identify in link with the case.
Police are also requesting any witnesses to the incidents or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting episode 145 of January 19.
